The United States is simply a stunning country from coast to coast. There are great places to see from the Pacific to the Atlantic and everywhere in between. If you own an RV in America, you have nearly endless possibilities for trips available to you. There is no excuse to not come up with a great destination idea for your next trip simply because there are so many to choose from. No matter where you happen to be located in this great country, you can be sure you are only a short trip from somewhere beautiful and peaceful.
Following is a list of six places that you must visit when taking an RV trip across the United States.
#1 – Yellowstone
Without question, this is the place that should rise immediately to the top of your list. Yellowstone is nothing short of incredible, and a trip to this stunning National Park is something that you aren’t going to soon forget. RV owners have long been making the pilgrimage to northwestern Wyoming to see the amazing landscape, wildlife, geysers, rivers, lakes, and more. Make your trip to Yellowstone as soon as possible and thank us later.
#2 – Mount Rushmore
Not far from Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore is a unique destination for an RV trip. Unlike somewhere like Yellowstone, Rushmore isn’t something that you could spend weeks seeing – you will probably be done there in just a few hours. However, the images that you see online don’t do this place justice. It is incredible in person, and it is truly a piece of American history.
#3 – Grand Canyon
Heading south, the Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona is another American icon that requires a place on this list. The challenge with the Grand Canyon, however, is seeing it all in a single trip. This is a huge National Park, and there are many different vistas to enjoy when you visit. Before you go, pick out a specific point or two that you would like to see, and make sure you give yourself enough time to relax and just enjoy the amazing scenery.
#4 – The Mighty Mississippi
The Mississippi River is another geographic feature that holds a big place in the history of our country, so seeing it in person is something that you should not miss out on. It doesn’t particularly matter where you choose to see the Mississippi, as long as you get a chance to stop somewhere along its shores and enjoy the majesty and power of this big river.
#5 – The Pacific Coast
There are very few places in the entire world as beautiful as the Pacific Coast of the United States. While the California Coast gets most of the attention, and rightfully so, there is wonderful scenery up into Oregon and Washington as well. When seeing this part of the country by RV, you will want to pick and choose your spots wisely, as some portions of the coast roads can get rather narrow and windy.
#6 – Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
The only destination on our list in the northeast, Niagara Falls is near Buffalo on the border with Canada. Yet another American icon, you have certainly seen Niagara in many pictures and even movies, but there is nothing quite like seeing it in person. The weather in Niagara can be quite rough in the winter, so take that into account when planning your vacation.
